Why Should I bring Yoga to My School?

     Research shows that yoga:
  • Calms restless behavior
  • Cultivates focus and concentration, which can help improve test scores
  • Builds balance and coordination
  • Promotes self-awareness
  • Builds confidence and self-esteem
  • Is a great addition or option to physical education classes or athletic team training
    • Yoga postures help with muscular imbalances, increase strength and flexibility
    • Yoga focuses on the most overused areas of the body that are prone to injury for athletes (hips, low back, shoulders)
    • Breathing exercises promote focus and stamina
Yoga meets many of the ADE Comprehensive Health Education/Physical Activity Standards
